This four-week program is designed to allow students the opportunity to explore the intersections of technique, choreographic process, and dance as a healing art. Students enrolled in the Drexel University Summer Dance Intensive will have the opportunity to investigate dance as a college student, while enjoying the benefits of being in Philadelphia.




Each day will consist of two technique classes, a seminar on careers in dance, choreographic process, and choreographic work time.
Each day includes a 30 minute lunch break.
Schedule:
9:00-10:20AM - Technique class
10:30-11:50 AM- West African/Jazz/Modern/Pointe and other forms
12:00-12:30 PM Lunch
12:30-1:30 PM Class/Guest Lecture/Pilates
1:45-4:00 PM Choreographic Process
This program will have culminating performance in the Mandell Theater on August 4th, 2023.
Participants may choose to stay on campus in one of our dorms. Commuter options are also available.
What to know before attending: Drexel University currently recommends masks, but does not require them.
We welcome mature high school students, 14‑18 years old.
Apply by submitting the following items:
A short video with you performing two genres of your preference. Videos no longer than 90 minutes.
A copy of your high school transcript
Upon acceptance, we will mail an information package to you and your family with additional program information and more forms to complete.
All applications will be reviewed as we receive them and applicants will be notified within 3 weeks from receipt. Admissions decisions are based upon academic preparation and a commitment to learn.
Activities Fee: $100
All payments can be divided into 3 parts:
1st Payment - Feb. 15, 2023
2nd Payment - April 15, 2023
3rd Payment - June 15, 2023
Acceptable forms of payment are Check or Money Order, or Credit Card (use with online application only).
