Program Details

The College Study Skills Course forms the core of this program and one of the few opportunities for students as young as high school freshmen to obtain college credits.

Beyond the classroom, students have a host of activities that they can choose from. To reinforce the learning experience, students visit academic departments, university laboratories and museums. The UC Davis student farms (UC Davis is #1 in agriculture), Mondavi Food Institute (UC Davis is #1 in food science), UC Davis veterinary hospital (UC Davis is #1 in veterinary studies) have all been very popular among students. At the same time, students can play sports of their choice, cycle through the 100-acre UC Davis Arboretum or hang out in a college town that has one of the most public art per square mile in the country.

Beyond the campus, students will make 3 nearby excursions – to Sacramento, San Francisco and the Greater Bay Area. Visits include to UC Berkeley, with a talk with their admissions officers, Stanford University, as well as the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Students will have a full experience for a memorable and inspiring summer.
