Choose modules from across King's faculties:
1. Pre-University Business Management (Session 1, 2, 3)
This course will introduce you to a range of management disciplines and related skills such as marketing, finance, operations and people management, allowing you to use the knowledge gained to begin to formulate your own business strategies. Our proximity to the City of London and financial centre, ensures that you are right on the edge of the thriving business community, and course activities, guest speakers and an excursion will broaden your understanding of how businesses compete in today's global marketplace.
2. Pre-University International Relations (Session 1, 2, 3)
This course is designed for students who are interested in a closer examination of political challenges; such as the role and power of international organisations in responding to global issues. King’s central location and proximity to Westminster places you on the doorstep of centres of power and policy making.
3. Pre-University Law (Session 1, 2, 3)
This course examines the foundations of International Law and the key challenges within this discipline. It has been designed to give you a core understanding of different areas and an insight into studying this subject. Our central location, next to the Royal Courts of Justice and Inns of Court, ensures that you will benefit from a number of course activities and excursions designed to broaden their understanding of the professional practice of Law.
4. Pre-University Medical Science (Session 1, 2, 3)
This course explores the relationship between our human physiology and anatomy and several medical conditions. Students will build their awareness and understanding of how the body functions, looking at the cardiovascular, pulmonary, musculoskeletal and neuroendocrine systems. Health history, diagnostic procedures and current treatments of diseases will be discussed, as well as the management of medical emergencies. The adaptation of body systems to different environments, such as temperature extremes, mountain altitudes, airplane cabins, hostile conditions of space will also be presented.
During the course students will be exposed to research that seeks to monitor and promote the medical and psychological wellbeing of humans, including the state-of-the-art innovations in telehealth and virtual and augmented realities.
5. Pre-University Psychology (Session 1, 2, 3)
This course will encourage you to think critically and adopt problem-based learning to see how insights from research can be applied to real world issues. Our Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience is one of the world’s leading centres for interdisciplinary research in psychiatry and psychology, and you will gain a valuable insight into this field of study.
6. Pre-University Science Technology & Engineering (Session 1, 2)
This course is for students who are keen to take a hands-on approach to learning how physicists, engineers and others work together to tackle global challenges. Its curriculum looks at the subject from both a technological and ethical viewpoint and aims to enable participants to learn the power of computational thinking as a tool for problem-solving in almost any discipline.
Lessons will consider the global problem of how to improve water quality as a springboard to explore experimental Physics, hardware design and coding, as well as enable class discussions centred on Ethics in Science.
Led by academics from King’s Natural and Mathematical Sciences faculty, students will study fundamentals of Physics and Engineering and build their theoretical and experimental understanding of each discipline in the modern world.
7. Pre-University Media, Communication & Digital Culture (Session 2, 3)
This course will deepen your understanding of traditional and digital media and communication, exploring ways in which people and societies engage with technologies, including contemporary cultural phenomena such as social media, streaming cultures and digital fandom. You will explore the role of language and media in society worldwide, and how the way we communicate has the power to shape the way we see the world, engage with other people and other times, and construct collective and individual identities.
