Offering an introduction to fundamental economic concepts, including investing and basic money management skills, this program is designed to help students make smarter financial decisions. In addition to online video lessons delivered by Wharton faculty, the program also includes related readings, activities, glossary terms, and quizzes to test learning.

Students in Understanding Your Money will access the program on the Wharton Online learning platform. The program is on-demand and self-paced, so you can move through the material as your schedule allows.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Define and apply key economics concepts and principles in financial decision-making

- Articulate why people invest and how to develop smart investing strategies.

Format

This program is designed with 4 modules of content, including 16 topic units and 55 lecture videos. It will take 13–15 hours to complete the program, but students move through at their own pace.

High school students currently enrolled in grades 9–12. International applicants are welcome.

Understanding Your Money has no application process or prerequisites. Students can simply click the Enroll Now button and start learning.
Technical Requirements:
In order to access our programs, you must have a connection to the Internet. Videos are only available via online streaming — you will not be able to download videos for viewing offline.
At this time, our system does not fully support access with mobile devices. While many components of this course will function on a mobile device, some may not.
