The future of technology will require capabilities that we can only dream of now. Through our engaging two-week summer program, you can master the coding skills necessary to solve real world problems.
New for Summer 2023: Our coding program will offer separate sessions for coders just getting started and more advanced coders, to help coders of all abilities further develop their skills!

Coding 101 is strategically designed to be suitable for students of all skill levels, whether you’re advanced and looking to refresh yourself on the basics, or a programming rookie who has never coded before. Coding 201 will provide more developed coders the opportunity to challenge themselves, learn more advanced languages and topics, with others equally passionate about coding.
No matter which track you choose, you'll leave our coding programs excited about what where the wide world of coding can take you and develop your coding portfolio. Immerse yourself in a new challenge at Tufts. Reap the benefits of hands-on training and position yourself for future success. You will learn Python, one of the most popular coding languages today, used not just for mobile apps, but also for web and software development, as well as desktop graphic user interfaces (GUIs). As data science, programming, and coding are some of the fastest growing fields today, with jobs multiplying across industries, the potential applications are endless. Programming and Computer Science are a new and growing literacy that will help you navigate and explore almost any field of human activity!
Uniquely comprehensive, our coding program supplements daily coding lectures with a diverse range of faculty guest lectures on topics like the history of programming and introductions to AI, Robotics, and Cybersecurity. You will gain insights into computing and grow your skills through individual and small, group-based daily coding, discussion, and skills building sessions. Through these daily training sessions, you'll be able to better understand computing and coding, working within groups, and further expand your abilities. In addition, "Tech Treks" to Boston-area technology-centric companies, such as Hubspot, Google, Ginkgo Bioworks, Fidelity, and more, will allow you to explore the vast array of careers in the ever-expanding fields of software and technology. Learning from experts in the field, students work together to develop not just in-demand programming skills but also the soft skills that you need to successfully create a final coding project. You’ll take the skills that you’ve acquired in the classroom and, collaborating with your team, present your exciting project at program close.
This program will combine engaging lectures, skill-building sessions, guest lectures, and Tech Treks to set students up for success in data-intensive fields. Students can expect a daily concept and coding lecture, followed up with coding and discussion sessions, as well as various skill building opportunities.

Financial Aid
Tufts Pre-College Programs are committed to aiding students from all backgrounds. Although we have only limited need-based financial aid available, we do our best to distribute the funds to students for whom it can make the greatest difference in their ability to attend.
Financial Aid awards are made on a rolling basis to students with demonstrated need. We aim to provide enough aid to eligible students that they are able to successfully enroll and participate in the program.
If financial assistance is essential to your ability to attend the program, we recommend that you wait to pay the $550 non-refundable deposit until you have received your financial aid decision. Award decisions will be issued twice per month.
Please note:
International students are not eligible for financial aid at this time. Families should expect to contribute to the remaining portion of the program cost as well as other expenses like travel, books, etc.
We currently do not offer aid for students participating in our Leadership for Social Change Intensive
