On your internship you will advance the boundaries of knowledge in your chosen discipline, and coauthor an original research paper in collaboration with other student colleagues and under the guidance of your expert mentor.
Deepen your knowledge while acquiring practical research skills and hands-on experience into what it is like to undertake advanced study in your chosen discipline. Become a published author when you submit your completed research paper to our open-access academic journal, World Scholars Review, or another scholarly publication.

Final project
World Scholars Academy research internships for ages 15-18 investigate current issues in Business, Medicine, Law, and Engineering. On the internship you will work with fellow World Scholars to research and coauthor a pioneering academic paper on your topic with the close support of your mentor, a world-leading expert in the field.
During your internship you will learn specialist research techniques, survey the extant literature of the discipline, and conduct original research on your topic. You will contribute your own ideas to the project's successful completion, and will develop technical skills and practical know-how to excel in the discipline. Your final paper will be reviewed by your mentor and submitted to either our open-access academic journal, World Scholars Review, or another scholarly publication.
Live and interactive online classes
Internships take place on either Saturday or Sunday over four weeks, allowing you to participate in an internship during your normal school year or simultaneously with a World Scholars Academy academic summer course. Interns should expect to spend a minimum of three hours outside of their live contact time each week to complete their research project. World Scholars Academy internships include:
- Maximum class size six (6) students
- Individualized feedback and academic guidance
- Co-authored research paper submitted for publication
- Entry into the WSR Best Review Award competition
- Certificate of Completion

I recently had the privilege of working with a group of motivated youth, and Professor Gerard Dericks at the World Scholars Academy, and I cannot recommend this enough! With his guidance and support, I was able to contribute to my very first review paper. Professor Dericks led us through each step of the process, patiently teaching us about the theories of inflation and economics and allowing us to each focus on the areas that interested us most.
Not only did I gain valuable knowledge about these areas, but I also learned how to work collaboratively with others from around the world. Together, we created a positive and supportive environment in which I felt comfortable sharing my ideas and receiving feedback. His guidance helped me to grow both personally and academically. Overall, I would recommend to anyone interested in trying something new in a supportive environment!
This was a great experience! There was a lot of work and a LOT of reading, but what we produced in the 5 weeks was truly gratifying. At the end of it, I felt really proud of what I accomplished, as writing a thorough review paper about competition law and AI collusion wasn't something I knew I could do. The process allowed for us as students to really take charge of the work, but we were also very well supported by our mentor throughout. The internship was truly insightful, and I emerged more confident in my academic writing capabilities.
The course was really engaging! I was not the only international student, and I didn’t feel any pressure. The only con was that I had to go to bed very late because the classes started at 1 am in my time zone. The professor elaborated various topics, and we watched videos and worked in groups, so there were a lot of things to do. The knowledge I got is also practical and applicable.

World Scholars Academy programs target ambitious students from around the world who are eager to excel in their academic pursuits and learn in a personalized setting from the world’s most accomplished educators.
When to Apply:
It is recommended to enroll for your desired program session as soon as possible. However, we are able to accept a student onto our programs up until the day they start, provided that the session has not yet filled. For summer courses it is also better to apply earlier so we can schedule your first one-on-one tutorial with your instructor prior to your first class, and so you have a chance to consult your instructor's recommended preparatory materials before your classes begin (though this is optional).
