At Leangap, teens don’t just learn entrepreneurship—they do it. In just four weeks, you and your team will build a real startup from scratch, test it with real customers, and pitch your work to entrepreneurs and industry experts. It’s an experience that stands out to college admission officers, scholarship committees, and future employers because it shows initiative, grit, and leadership.
Leangap is designed to challenge you, allowing you to grow beyond the classroom. You’ll navigate the highs and lows of launching something new, learn how to collaborate effectively, and discover strengths you may not have known you had. By the end, you won’t just have a startup—you’ll have confidence, stage presence, and skills that stay with you long after the program ends.

Leangap helps you launch an impactful startup with the guidance of mentors who have successfully built their own companies. Leangap’s mentors are CEOs, engineers, marketers, and professionals who have established themselves in their fields. Their feedback and insight will be invaluable not only to your startup but also to your future.
Over four weeks, Leangap students move through the four key stages of launching a startup:
- Validation — when they determine whether there is product–market fit for their idea.
- Creation — when they build their MVP.
- Traction — when they gain their first users and customers.
- Pitching — when they present their company to a panel of judges.
Leangap uses a 1-on-1 approach with each student to help them succeed in the real world, whereas many other programs rely on canned lectures to accommodate large groups.
Whether a student chooses the Online or San Francisco program, they will develop the grit, resilience, and adaptability that help people succeed in any field.
Leangap is also the only program that prioritizes teen mental health. Teams meet weekly with Leangap’s in-house psychotherapist, and students can book on-demand 1:1 sessions. They unload their worries, build resilience and self-confidence, and learn healthy coping strategies to take on life’s challenges.
Leangap offers two formats to accommodate your needs: Online or Residential.

Our San Francisco program’s housing location will be disclosed when you are accepted into the next cohort. Past locations include San Francisco State University and UC Berkeley.
Leangap accepts students from any school grade, as long as they are between 13 and 18 years old.
We welcome young entrepreneurs from every state in the United States and from around the world, provided they are proficient in English.

Leangap’s application is designed for students to complete. Use the 2,000-character limit as an opportunity to expand on your motivation and background.
Do not use AI-generated content. Generic or overly polished wording is easily recognizable. If AI use is detected, your application will be automatically rejected.

Residential
A non-refundable deposit of $700 USD is required to secure your spot and must be made within 14 days of acceptance. The remaining tuition is due 14 days after the deposit is made.
The remaining tuition is refundable if the program start date is 60 days or more away, providing you with ample time for decision-making and flexibility. If the program start date is less than 60 days away, unfortunately, we can't offer a refund because all associated costs are paid upfront at that point.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available and is completely need-based, meaning we will provide a scholarship if you are admitted and you demonstrate you can't pay in full due to your financial situation. If you're driven, passionate, and accomplished, Leangap will make it possible for you to attend.
You can receive anywhere from 10% to 80% off for the Online program and anywhere from 10% to 50% off for the San Francisco program.
Leangap does not currently offer full-ride scholarships.
During the application process, you will need to upload a document with your parents' income statements for the last 12 months.
